Teori Zavascki, jurista e Ministro do STF, morreu hoje, 19 de janeiro de 2017. Ele foi vítima da queda do avião que o transportava. Não foi apenas uma grande perda para o universo jurídico brasileiro. Foi muito mais que isso (não, não estou falando da Lava Jato). Pelo seu conhecimento jurídico, sua seriedade, sua inteligência e pela posição que ocupava no Judiciário, pode-se dizer que a nossa perda—nossa dos brasileiros que tinham esperança na moralização (não confundir com moralismo) dos três Poderes—foi inestimável, aterradora. Nada mais será como antes.

Teori Zavascki, a lawyer and justice of the Brazilian Supreme Court, died today, January 19, 2017. He was a victim of a plane crash. It has not been just a "great" loss for the Brazilian legal universe. It was much more than that (no, I'm not talking about the Lava Jato Operation). Because of his legal knowledge, his seriousness, his intelligence and his position in the Judiciary, it can be said that our loss—our, of the Brazilians who had hoped for moralization (not to be confused with moralism) of the three Powers-was inestimable, terrifying. Nothing else will be like before.
